Golzernsee is an alpine lake located in Central Switzerland in the Canton of Uri, where you can swim, hike, or just enjoy the view.
Details:
🚗Driving from Zurich to Bristen: 1 hour 18 minutes.
The road to Bristen is a narrow one. There is a sign indicating times when access is restricted due to bus transit.
🅿️Park your car at the cable car station. There are plenty of parking spaces.
🚡Cable car: 17CHF return, no discounts. 11CHF one way. Keep in mind that they have a lunch break from 12:00-13:00. It runs every half an hour.
🥾After a quick cable car ride, you have to walk for 25 minutes to get to the lake. However, it's a very easy walk, 1.4km long each way. I visited this lake in the middle of June and there was nobody around, just locals. I loved it very much.
I didn't go directly to the lake because I love to see lakes from above. To see the whole lake with the beautiful mountains surrounding it. I took the path to the left of the lake. I went up, then through the forest, and once I exited the forest, there was a view overlooking the lake. I found the best spot and enjoyed the view.
