Exploring the Lauterbrunnen valley and waterfalls only takes about 2-4 hours. So you could do this on your arrival day or add them onto any day where you have extra time.

This is a good option for those on a budget because it doesn't require any expensive cable cars.

Good for a cloudy day since many of the charms are at lower elevations, often below the clouds.

If you have kids, they might enjoy playtime at the pool or a playground.

Where to stay

For this itinerary, we suggest staying in Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, or Wengen.

We also love Mürren and Gimmelwald, but they are less convenient because you have to take a cable car down the mountain to access other areas.

Interlaken is convenient since it's close to a main transportation hub, but not quite as charming as the others.
