Bachalpsee (2,265 m) is an alpine lake located near Grindelwald in Bernese Oberland, Jungfrau region.

Details:

🚗 First, you have to arrive in Grindelwald. Expect this place to be crowded. We parked here, but we had to walk to the station for 10 minutes, which is not bad at all. The best way is to arrive and look for free parking while driving through Grindelwald.

🚡 Second, you have to take a cable car up to Grindelwald First. Book your tickets online here. It costs 72 CHF return per person. I bought the tickets online to avoid the crowd. It takes 25 minutes.

🏔️ Once you're up there, enjoy the views, walk around, and walk through the famous cliff.

🥾 Then walk to the lake. The whole hike from the First to the lake and back to the First is 6 km, 2 h, 150 m in elevation. It took us 35 min one way without stops.

TIP: If you want to avoid the crowd, arrive late. The only downside is that you have to hike back down to Grindelwald, which I found tough and very steep but would choose every time.
