If I could only do one road trip in Australia, it would be from Perth to Esperance. This is one of the most beautiful road trips in Australia and one of my absolute favourites. I have done it so many times that I have put together what I consider the perfect 2-week road trip itinerary.
A road trip from Perth to Esperance is a dream come true, with picturesque scenery and endless things to do along the way. The route takes you through the magic of the South West region, passing popular stops such as Busselton, Yallingup, Margaret River, and Albany, before finally reaching Esperance, home to Australia’s whitest sand and some of the bluest water you will ever see.
Best time to visit Esperance
The best time to visit Esperance is during the warmer months between September and April. These months are the warmest with high chance of clear skies and good weather. Winter in Esperance is very cold and wet which isn't ideal to explore this tropical paradise.
We always visit Esperance from January till April and the weather is beautiful. Across three months in Esperance, we only had a couple of rainy days. Like most places in Western Australia, the afternoons can get quite windy, so it is best to start your days early to make the most of the calm mornings.
